Heather Withers was A DECLARATION OF INTERDEPENDENCE Phil Clausen read to us a quote from Chief Seattle: This we know, all things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons and daughters of the earth. We did not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. Phil also read from Thich Nhat Hanh: Living Buddha, Living Christ When we see the nature of inter-being, barriers between ourselves and others are dissolved, and peace, love, and understanding are possible. Whenever there is understanding, compassion is born.
